Who would replace Sarri ??

by Prodigy

All we saw were flashes, we were really hoping to see a much improved style this new  season  but it appears we won't get to witness Sarriball on screen in english football (at least for now).  After spending a large part of last summer trying to acquire the services of Maurisio Sarri last summer , it looks like Chelsea will be in the market again (and again) for another coach. Sarri has made his desire of returning home (Italy) known and there are rumours of him becoming the next Juventus manager.
Here we take a look at the coaches Chelsea could be looking at as Sarri's replacement.

Frank Lampard
Current Club : Derby County

Super Frankie could be returning "home" this summer not as a player but as a coach. The former England international and and current Derby county manager is the favourite to replace Maurisio Sarri. This past season, he led Derby to the Championships playoff final (where they lost to Aston Villa). There are doubts surrounding his appointment given his managerial track record ; he just finished his first season as a manager , unproven but many Chelsea faithfuls hopes he can be their own Pep Guardiola or Zinedine Zidane, should he be appointed.

Erik Ten Hag
Current Club : Ajax

He led the young and impressive Ajax side to the champions league semi final ( were they constantly out played their opponents with his unique brand of football), the Eredivisie title and Dutch cup success. Prizing Erik Ten Hag away from Ajax would be very defficult but he's a very good fit should Chelsea choose to continue with the system Sarri was implementing.

Jose Mourinho
Current Club : Unemployed
Former Club : Manchester United

Mourinho isn't a stranger to the Chelsea dugout, arguably their greatest  manager in history. He was in charge of the blues from 2004-2007 winning 2 premier league titles ,  the FA cup , 2 league cups and the the community shield before departing, he returned for a second spell in 2013 and added a another premier league and league cup to his honours. A third stint could be on the cards with Mourinho constantly hinting he'll be back to management this summer.

Massimiliano Allegri
Current Club : Unemployed
Former club: Juventus
The Italian tactician parted ways with Juventus at the end of the 18/19 season after winning his 4th successive domestic doubles and Juve's 8th straight Serie A title. Allegri would be very eager to manage abroad having worked in Italy all his career.

Steve Holland.
Current Job : England NT assistant manager.
Steve Holland is a familiar name in Chelsea  having worked with the reserve team and as assistant coach to various managers between 2009-2017. He's currently the assistant manager of the English national team.

Regardless of whoever takes over from Sarri, a huge task lies ahead with a transfer ban on the horizon (still waiting for CAS), best player headed for Real Madrid, ageing squad and long term injuries to key players.

  1. How about Sarri staying?

    1. He has agreed a deal with juventus. He would be their new coach
